WHY TRAVEL TO FINLAND ON OUR TOURS & PACKAGES?
Finland is a country where nature, wellbeing and thoughtful design exist in rare balance. With vast forests, thousands of lakes and a deep connection to the outdoors, Finland offers a travel experience that feels calm, restorative and quietly inspiring.
Consistently ranked among the world’s happiest countries, Finland’s appeal lies not in excess but in simplicity – clean air, peaceful landscapes and a culture that values nature, wellbeing and time spent outdoors. As explored in Secrets of the happiest country on Earth in Traveller, Finland’s quiet contentment is closely tied to time spent outdoors and a strong sense of community.
With our Nordic expertise, 50 Degrees North designs journeys that reveal Finland’s landscapes and culture through meaningful experiences across the country, from vibrant design cities to remote Arctic wilderness.
Here’s what makes our Finland journeys distinctive:
Lapland and the Arctic North
Northern Finland offers magical winter landscapes with Northern Lights, snow-covered forests and unforgettable Arctic experiences. Many journeys include stays in beautifully designed glass igloos, reindeer encounters and visits to Santa Claus’ home region in Lapland.
Sauna and Wellbeing Culture
The sauna is at the heart of Finnish life. From lakeside cabins to contemporary spa hotels, many journeys include opportunities to experience this essential Finnish tradition.
Design and Modern Nordic Living
Helsinki is one of Europe’s great design capitals, known for its architecture, museums and creative culture. Southern Finland also reveals a refined, design-led approach to nature. In How Finland makes simplicity the ultimate luxury, Luxury Travel Magazine highlights peaceful log cabin retreats in Nuuksio National Park, the art and design heritage of Fiskars Village, and understated eco-architecture such as The Barö in the archipelago.
Nature and Outdoor Freedom
Finland’s forests, lakes and national parks invite hiking, canoeing, wildlife watching and quiet exploration. The country’s landscapes encourage travellers to slow down and reconnect with nature.
